BONDtraining dryland training programs are designed to build a better cycling athlete. It takes aim at improving participants’ strength, resilience, focus, mobility, endurance and power. Did you know a more fit rider has a bigger window of time in each ride to improve their skill? The less fit rider will tires out sooner and as a result has a smaller window of quality time in each ride to acquire and improve their skills. Did you know a fitter, stronger rider not only has improved control but is also less prone to injury compared to a less fit, equally skilled rider? Did you know with appropriate programming individuals can significantly improve their power output, without gaining muscle mass, resulting in an improved watts per kilogram(W/Kg) - an important indicator of performance for cyclists? The MTBdryland programs through a focused commitment of two hours per week, will help you reach new levels in your riding. Let’s ‘level up’ YOU in preparation for your best season of riding. HYBRID combines the fun and physical exertion of intervals on the indoor pump track & jump lines matched with off-bike segments to build cardio, strength, core, power, mobility & resilience. The HYBRID program is where the MTBdryland program meets the PUMPtrack, training at the North Shore Bike park. Commitment of 6 weeks, with training options for 1x or 2x per week.

Private training sessions provide an excellent opportunity for athletes to receive focused "athlete centric" coaching and mentorship, tailored to their individual development needs that in a larger group / team training setting is not typically possible.

For GYM based Personal Training sessions - a Training Assessment whilst not mandatory, is highly recommended.

This 1st session allows both the athlete(s) and coach to get to know each other, explore / introduce the training environment, and confirm its a good "fit" for all parties. Together Coach & Athlete will review and establish the athletes personal "goals" movement/skill foundations, and this allows the coach to assess what the key areas of development and training plan focus should be.

The gym assessment session will include movement / exercise and equipment review, so that the athlete leaves the session with a foundational understanding of good form for the gym program exercises.

Following the gym training assessment session you will receive a training plan proposal that will provide coaching observations, with athlete specific training plan recommendations.

Owner BONDTraining & ACTIV8TE Gym Program Lead.

With 20+ years personal training experience and 20+ years of competitive cycling experience, Jason is passionate to share how a consistent commitment in the gym will help you achieve your short-term and long-term physical pursuits.​

Jason has worked with elite level athletes across a variety of disciplines and has spent the last 15 years pioneering and refining his highly successful MTBdryland program in North Vancouver, providing the highest-level performance related gym experience for people that love to ride their bike. ​His program attracts a wide range of professionals and is THE go to winter dryland training program for bike industry professionals on the North Shore.

Outside of his Gym training - Jason is a PMBIA Certified Bike coach, most recently adding BMX coaching to his Cycle BC Certifications.

Jason’s love for riding started at an early age in Lakefield, Ontario riding a BMX. In his teens, he and his family moved to Kelowna, BC. Where he fell in love with mountain biking and renewed his thirst for the sense of freedom and adventure that two wheels (regardless of the bike type) could provide. ​

He also found that competitive cycling was a great personal outlet providing opportunities to expand his knowledge of himself, of human physiology and an opportunity to explore the art of riding. ​

As a result he has acquired a range of riding and competitive experience - from BMX, road racing (from crits to Randonnee’s), Cyclo-cross and Mountain Biking in all of it’s shapes and iterations (including slopestyle, 4x, XCO, ultra-XC, DH, BCBR & Enduro),

​Jason is always excited to share his passion for better-living-through-activity as well as all things 2-wheeled. He is a student of the art and beauty of riding and is always grateful for the opportunity to share insight and riding experiences with others.

His outlets include BONDtraining, as well as a mountain bike skills coach for RideHub, collaborations with both Cycling BC & Endless Biking providing Strength training to their development teams, and a new collaboration with the North Shore Bike Park with a new HYBRID program that combines the expertise of the MTBdryland with Pumptrack conditioning.

We are proud to be collaborating with Jason as he leads our Gym based performance training programming, as well as an exciting collaboration for 2024 where we will be supporting hisDevelopment Team at the North Shore BMX club.

Jason is passionate about empowering athletes and building strong coach / client relationships. His strengths include developing quality training programs and creating positive environments that remain individually focused within a group setting, focusing on form and quality of movement.

Jason’s provides individual and small group training programming both in the gym and on the bike. He also provides “event” preparation coaching and mentorship services — offering a tailored, and focused event training plan that athletes can execute independently, culminating in a peak level event performance.

We are excited to be working with Jason to develop the ACTIV8TE Performance Training programming and collaborate in offering a range of fitness and training programs for youth and adults which includes the expansion of the MTBdryland program,

Jason’s training style and coaching philosophy makes him an excellent fit and addition to the ACTIV8TE Coaching.
