BONDtraining dryland training programs are designed to build a better cycling athlete. It takes aim at improving participants’ strength, resilience, focus, mobility, endurance and power.

- The less fit rider will tire out sooner and as a result has a smaller window of quality time in each ride to acquire and improve their skills.

- With appropriate programming individuals can significantly improve their power output, without gaining muscle mass, resulting in an improved watts per kilogram(W/Kg) - an important indicator of performance for cyclists?

The MTBdryland winter programs through a focused commitment of two hours per week, will help you reach new levels in your riding. Let’s ‘level up’ YOU in preparation for your best season of riding. The MTBdryland Summer program offers 1x or 2x per week options that are designed to enhance your peak riding season. Many of our clients continue through the summer during their competition/performance training phase, or simply as part of a maintenance training plan.

The HYBRID program is where the MTBdryland program meets the PUMPtrack and combines the fun and physical exertion of intervals on the indoor pump track & jump lines matched with off-bike segments to build cardio, strength, core, power, mobility & resilience. Training is offered at the North Shore Bike Park offered monthly through the summer and in 6 week training phases throughout the Winter, with options for 1x or 2x per week.

Whether you are runner or cyclist looking to work on your power or endurance, a basketballer looking to improve your vertical jump, have a specific fitness goal, or you are an athlete training for a sport specific evaluation or tournament deadline, our coaches can help you focus your training activity to help you achieve your goals.

IDT Plan Pricing​
- Initial (Gym) Assessment- $175 (75-90mins)
- Initial (Field) Assessment $120 (60-75mins)
- Month 1 = $195 Plan Build + 4 Virtual Check In calls (1/wk - prescheduled)
- Month 2+ = $150 Maintenance incl 4 Virtual Check In calls (1/wk - prescheduled)
- Prepaid 3 Month Package* = $425,

HOW TO START

After an initial phone consultation & or training assessment (Gym or Field) your coach will provide your athlete with a detailed training plan proposal with athlete & plan specific coaching recommendations, based on your individual goals, starting skill & fitness level. (Note The Training Plan Proposal is provided without obligation to commit to purchase of a Training Plan package).

When booking Month 1 - your IDTP is then custom designed on a 4-week cycle - periodized and booked month to month. Plans include detailed training activity with ongoing plan maintenance and coaching "check ins". Your Coach will design your personalized plan to include 3-5 individualized training sessions / activities per week, that consider the initial consultation, assessment, your personal development goals, equipment access, other training commitments and any event specific or other timelines (eg. race, tournament, tryouts). Months 2+ include any necessary plan modifications, supported with weekly "check ins".

If you are training for a specific event - an IDTP assessment offers an excellent opportunity to have your training activity reviewed, and a plan tailored so that your training is optimized for peak event performance. Training plans are built by a single coach - but can be customized to incorporate components designed by multiple coaches (eg. Gym Training plan w/Coach Jason + Running Plan w/Coach Ally) Each plan is tailored to the individual athletes specific development needs, level and goals.

Why would I need an IDTP ?
IDTP packages are perfect for athletes looking to work with a trainer - but without the additional schedule commitment. Or for athletes who are already training independently but not perhaps seeing the results they are expecting from the activity level. A coach supported IDTP removes guess work, and additionally offers athletes all of the benefits of in person training with a reduced financial commitment.
Working with a Coach on an IDTP also provides structure, accountability, and mentorship while you navigate successes & challenges in your athletic journey.
IDT Plans can be utilized in any location and therefore provide a great option for athletes who are travelling, are unable or prefer not to attend in person classes, or who have variable schedules.

BCBR Strength Training Plan

  • Balance Payment of $350+gst on or before Dec 1, OR
  • 5 pre-authorized monthly payments of $75 due Feb 1, Mar 1, Apr 1, May 1 & June 1.

ABOUT the Coach

Jason Bond, founder of BONDtraining, has established himself as one of Vancouver’s leading bike-focused Strength coaches. Jason is passionate about all things 2-wheeled and brings a wealth of experience as both a trainer and cyclist

Jason has trained himself and raced across a wide range of cycling disciplines, from MXC, XCO, DH, Enduro(mtb), Road Racing, CX and BMX; his personal race experience also includes completing the BCBR.

BONDtraining’s ‘MTBdryland’ Program is an off-season strength training program in its 16th year. The area’s riding community and Bike Industry professionals trust the program, and it sells out annually.

The new ‘HYBRID’ training program was launched in November at the North Shore Bike Park (North Vancouver, Canada). These fast-paced training sessions combine conditioning segments using intervals and challenges on the park’s various pump tracks, with strength and mobility components off the bike. ABOUT THE COACH

Jason has worked with elite level athletes across a variety of disciplines and has spent the last 15 years pioneering and refining his highly successful MTBdryland program in North Vancouver, providing the highest-level performance related gym experience for people that love to ride their bike. ​His program attracts a wide range of professionals and is THE go to winter dryland training program for bike industry professionals on the North Shore.

Outside of his Gym training - Jason is a PMBIA Certified Bike coach, most recently adding BMX coaching to his Cycle BC Certifications.

Jason’s love for riding started at an early age in Lakefield, Ontario riding a BMX. In his teens, he and his family moved to Kelowna, BC. Where he fell in love with mountain biking and renewed his thirst for the sense of freedom and adventure that two wheels (regardless of the bike type) could provide. ​

He also found that competitive cycling was a great personal outlet providing opportunities to expand his knowledge of himself, of human physiology and an opportunity to explore the art of riding. ​

As a result he has acquired a range of riding and competitive experience - from BMX, road racing (from crits to Randonnee’s), Cyclo-cross and Mountain Biking in all of it’s shapes and iterations (including slopestyle, 4x, XCO, ultra-XC, DH, BCBR & Enduro),

​Jason is always excited to share his passion for better-living-through-activity as well as all things 2-wheeled. He is a student of the art and beauty of riding and is always grateful for the opportunity to share insight and riding experiences with others.

His outlets include BONDtraining, as well as a mountain bike skills coach for RideHub, collaborations with both Cycling BC & Endless Biking providing Strength training to their development teams, and a new collaboration with the North Shore Bike Park with a new HYBRID program that combines the expertise of the MTBdryland with Pumptrack conditioning.

We are proud to be collaborating with Jason as he leads our Gym based performance training programming, as well as an exciting collaboration for 2024 where we will be supporting hisDevelopment Team at the North Shore BMX club.

Jason is passionate about empowering athletes and building strong coach / client relationships. His strengths include developing quality training programs and creating positive environments that remain individually focused within a group setting, focusing on form and quality of movement.

Jason’s provides individual and small group training programming both in the gym and on the bike. He also provides “event” preparation coaching and mentorship services — offering a tailored, and focused event training plan that athletes can execute independently, culminating in a peak level event performance.

We are excited to be working with Jason to develop the ACTIV8TE Performance Training programming and collaborate in offering a range of fitness and training programs for youth and adults which includes the expansion of the MTBdryland program,
